A
homely atmosphere is evident throughout. The catering, housekeeping
and laundry teams ensure that a high standard of hotel services
is available to all residents 24 hours a day. All meals are
prepared in our own commercial kitchens using fresh, local ingredients
and cooked by our qualified chef, who is experienced in and
only too happy to prepare meals for special diets. Laundry services
are also provided by our own in-house laundry. This ensures
a quick turnaround on all laundry.
Residents who wish to partake in recreational
and social activities are welcome to take advantage of our
dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who ensures that there is
always something to do. Typical activities included are crafts,
gardening, board games and visiting entertainers.
We operate an Open visiting policy in order
that residents can receive friends and family at any time,
as they would if living in the wider community.
Through our philosophy of Care, Comfort and
Consideration, The Close aims to be the first choice in the
local community with the provision of quality care and services.
It is our desire to make your stay with us
as happy, enjoyable and interesting as possible. Every attempt
will be made to consider the individual needs of each resident
to ensure that this is achieved.
If you would like to know more about The Close,
or wish to arrange a personal visit, please contact the Home
Manager or Administrator.
Leisure
Leisure activities are encouraged within the home and are
targeted towards the individual needs of the resident. The
home's manager has overall responsibility for any activity
and for ensuring residents' safety, including where appropriate,
necessary permission from GP's or relatives.
Resident involvement is encouraged but is
not mandatory. Community related activities will be provided
to those residents who wish to participate in order that residents'
lifestyles and contacts within the community are maintained.
All activities will be well planned and adequate
notice will be given to allow residents' relatives, friends
and staff to participate. Suitably experienced staff will
be in attendance at all times.
Residents are encouraged to be independent
and to enjoy a feeling of accomplishment and self confidence.
